Work
experience
I joined the Ministry of Health (Malaysia) workforce as a house officer in 2008. Upon completing housemanship, I served in Kanowit and Betong district hospitals as the Doctor in-charge before advancing my career in obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and emergency care in Sibu Hospital, Sarawak, Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim, Kedah and Penang General Hospital.
Looking to impact a broader range of patients, I took up a four-year stint as a medical and public health officer at Bandar (Kedah) and Tanjung Bungah (Penang) Health Clinics, leaving my position as Chief Medical Officer and head of Tanjung Bungah Health Clinic to further my studies in Public Health in the University of Malaya.
I graduated as Master of Public Health (with special interests in Occupational Health, Health Economics and Epidemiology and Biostatistics) in 2017 before branching out into the health economics field by simultaneously heading medical teams at Medi-Express (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., Health Connect Sdn. Bhd. and FWHS Medik Sdn. Bhd. where I provided staff medical training and occupational health services, and lead teams assessing medical claims for both inpatient and outpatient services.
I underwent a fellowship in Lifestyle Medicine in Greece last year, and to provide a holistic and sustainable solution to widespread medical problems, I set up the Lifestyle Medicine Division at Quill Orthopaedic Specialist Centre in TTDI, Kuala Lumpur where I practice today.
Having helped manage both public and private healthcare in Malaysia,
I look forward to learn and serve at national and international level.
